I have yet to find an answer to my question. To work around the issue, I replaced the buttons with static text. The original animation that uses button component located here:

you can use a flash dection script so the browser knows if the user has flash installed on their machine or not. the Macromedia website should have a detection kit somewhere, you'll have to search for it. try looking at [url]http://www.kirupa.com[/url] or [url]http://flashkit.com[/url] for tutorials aswell.
