design view + css= crap?
I generally code all of my projects by hand (css & html) and rarely use tables,
except for when they are called for (data lists). Lately I've been asked if my
clients will be able to update/maintain their sites using DW. I don't know how
to answer this question.
I've found that the Design view does not render the page as expected. My
clients will not be able to update their pages if they must use the Code view,
for they are not html savvy.
I used to use DW for my sites until I learned to design using only CSS, at
which time I found DW to be seriously lacking. What am I missing here? With
the hype that DW gets for content management, it's hardly user-friendly when it
comes to proper css...
Any tips? Suggestions? Clues? Does anyone here use DW & CSS to design
table-free web pages?
Baffled and getting cranky,
~Sara

Re: design view + css= crap?
I've found Dreamweaver MX2004 to be execllent when handling CSS. Though, it may slightly distort the layout of CSS-P pages in wysiwyg view.

Re: design view + css= crap?
Good grief. MX2004 was only better than MX, and that's not saying much.
Give MX2004 some floats or some relatively positioned elements and it falls
right down.
