    Default Determining Bitmap image resolution

    Is there a way to determine the resolution of an embedded bitmap image in Illustrator. I have a client who has submitted a .png file embedded in the illustrator file and I need to determine it's dpi.

    Default Re: Determining Bitmap image resolution

    Illustrator will tell you the resolution of an image if you double-click on it in the link palette and do a little math. If the Transform: Scale info reports 100%, the image is 72 ppi. If you divide 72 by the percentage reported you can get the output resolution. So 72 ppi/24% = 300 ppi.

    Or try the no-math way:

    With the embedded object selected go to

    Window-->Document Info

    select the little triangle thingy,

    go to "embedded images" and it will tell you the resolution.
