ColdFusion MX is a language for developing web applications - interactive
web pages, usually involving databases. It's also the name of the software
which runs on a server, enabling ColdFusion pages to be processed and served
    up.

Dreamweaver MX is web development software which allows you to design, code
and manage web sites. Among the many things it does, it will write
ColdFusion code for you, or help you to write your own. It will do the same
with ASP, ASP.NET, and some other comparable languages.

    Hope that helps.

You're welcome! If you have DWMX, you have everything you need to get set up
to learn ColdFusion. (When you get to that bridge, post again and people
    will help.)

If you're a non-programmer and want to learn just one server-side language,
CF is usually the one recommended due to its comparitive simplicity.

The sites need ColdFusion hosting, but that can be had for the same price as
    most ordinary commercial hosting.

    Cheers,

If you will be developing ColdFusion pages, you can download the free
ColdFusion MX Developer Edition server onto your PC so you don't need to
have a host until you are ready to publish.
