Differences between Dreamweaver FTP and Contribute
Hello, I am looking for solutions for updating a website. There will be
different users updating different areas. Can anyone outline the differences
between Dreamweaver FTP and Contribute for me please? Is there a pros and cons
list for each anywhere?
many thanks

difference. Both Dreamweaver and Contribute use generic FTP, or can
also connect via SFTP and WebDAV.
If you're talking about which product would be better for your users,
this depends on what you want your users to be able to do. If you use
Dreamweaver to create templates with editable and non-editable regions,
then Contribute can use these templates and you gain a great deal of
control over what users can and can't do on the web site. Contribute is
also far better for non-technical people because it's extremely easy to use.
If you let people use Dreamweaver they can more or less do anything they
want. Yes, Dreamweaver will respect the editable and non-editable
regions as well but inside Dreamweaver people could modify these regions
if they want to. Dreamweaver also has a lot steeper learning curve than
Contribute.
