difficulty connecting to mysql database usingdreamweaver
Hi all
i'm having trouble connecting to my database in dreamweaver.
i'm using an osx mac (panther) with the onboard version of php,
version 4.1 of mysql and mysql admin 2.6.1-pl3
when i try to make a mysql connection it wont allow me to select a
database and gives the message:
1251 client does not support authentication protocol requested by
server; consider upgrading msql client
is there another version of mysql i can use (i thought 4.1 was the
vatest version other than 5 which isnt on general release yet)
or am i doing something wrong with the connection properties?
i'm using the root level of the localhost in the site set up and for the
mysql server and i know that the username and password are right.
do i have to export the database or something?
If anyone can help id be grateful
cheers
Jon :confused;

Re: difficulty connecting to mysql database using dreamweaver
Hi,
You have to use the 4.0 compatibility mode for MySQL passwords
