Digicams that also take video - recommendations? - Photography

I know a dedicated video camera would be better, but I don't (intend to use) video too often. I'd like to know if there are digicamera that take reasonable quality video (with sound) - and to what length (dependant upon memory cards). -- New: "Musical Graffiti" - 100 MED-MODs (18 hours of music) http://www.angelfire.com/oz/med/ Separately downloadable (complete) as a 3.8 MB zip-file. If you don't want to get specific with actual cameras, a specific model
in a specific megapixel range, than go sony. Any sony video camera will
have the ability to record as long as the memory stick still has
capacity, with audio. I think it's 320x240 resolution for this - which
is still ok by digital still standards. If you want these results with
640x480 resolution, the Fuji s602 is a nice camera and has dropped in
price due to the release of its successor.

What you are asking for is mutually exclusive on all but foveon sensors IF,
you expect to get quality images and movies. There are not many makers using
these sensors so you might be faced with a heafty price to get what you
    want.

Sorry snaps, but the only camera that uses Foveon is the Sigma SD9, a camera
that does not have a movie mode!

None the less, The foveon sensor is the only currently available sensor
which can do both still and video with any degree of resolution and not
sacrifice the quality of one for the other. I didn't say I knew of a camera
just pointed out the clinical aspects of the situation.

Not a digital still camera (a video camera) that does 8MP! and not a Foveon
    neither.
