placed on your site. However, such a watermark has some "strength", that may
be overcome. Needless to say, if someone manage to, say, trace you logo to
vectors, all "watermarks" will be completely removed.
In a word, if you place something on your site, it can be copied, altered,
and used so that you wouldn't even know about that.

You would need to get the software to embed the digital watermark. You can
also sign up (on a subscription basis) for a service that "spiders" the web,
looking for images hijaaked from you. The digital watermark, can also
include contact information for you.
There is a trade-off between watermark strength (how resistant it is to
being degraded by image manipulation, filters, etc. and image artifacts).
