    Default Diminishing Lines

I am having to rebuild a logo (the client had only a ragged bmp file). Part of the graphic is a pattern of horizontal lines and spaces that gradually diminsh in thickness from bottom to top. What a pain in the keester to rebuild. Does anyone know a trick or know where I could download such a graphic?

I solved my own problem. Lay out equal lines and spaces, grab the corner with the free transform tool and behold ... diminishing lines and spaces.

What I did was make a series of elongated rectangles, stroked until I got the right proportion then outlined the stroke. Just to be anal, I went in and removed the extra lines created by the stroke outline.

Yes, but making the original series of lines using a stroked line, duped, and the blend tool would be a time-saver. The blend options (number of steps) and stroke weight would provide an easy way to achieve the desired line density as well as the line-to-space ratio.

Expand twice, and you're ready to do your thing with the free transform tool.
