Director doesn't work properly
I'm using Director MX for a couple of months now, never encountered a problem. Last week I formatted my disk and installed everything again (WinXP, Director MX etc). Since then Director MX doesn't work properly.
When I start Director MX, the icons of the toolbar (tha bar underneath the bar with "File", "Edit" etc) don't appear, when I switch from a window to the window of Director MX, I still see parts of the first window in the window of Director in the Stage, Score, Cast etc.
And when I want add text at the Stage, I don't see a cursor (the I-cursor). It's also impossible to edit a button. I can't resize it or move it.
It may be clear that I can't work with Director anymore, but I need it at this moment, so does anybody know a solution? I would be thankful.
Michael.

Re: Director doesn't work properly
If you are having multiple problems with Director I would first suggest uninstalling it and then reinstalling it. If that fails, meaing you continue having multiple issues then I would chalk it up to a bad OS install. Unless you can pin the problem on some other application that is new to the install config that you did not previously have. I personally, would reinstall the OS, making sure to format the drive when reinstalling.

Re: Director doesn't work properly
I reinstalled Director MX for a couple of times now, but nothing changes. Formatting my disk and reinstall WinXP is something I want to do when nothing else solves the problem. Thanx for the advice, I try a couple of other things now and when that doesn't help, I reinstall WinXP.

see if there are newer drivers for the display card.
Also, make sure to turn off virus checkers (particularly Norton AntiVirus)
before (re)installing Director.
