    Default Director Video Vs Flash Video [file size]

    I am a flash application developer. I just encode video into flv and
    integrate video with flash. This method decreases the file size of video also
    like 5 MB to 2 MB + video player developed by Action script (.swf file) = 2 MB+
    100 Kb = 2 MB & 100 Kb file size.

    Then if, I would integrate the same (5 MB) video with Macromedia Director and
    run it over the internet. What would be the file size.

    5 MB (video) + shockwave with video player = ? (File size [min -- max])
    :confused;

    Please let me know if there is any concern about this question.

    Default Re: Director Video Vs Flash Video [file size]

    if you use the shockwave player, it will not affect the video size. the player
    itself can be very small, depending on how much grafic is used in it.

    but the good news is, you can use video with better quality than the *.flv
    format. like wmv, quicktime, real, divx and whatever is installed on the
    endusers maschine.

    so if you have a good encoder like sorenson squeeze you can make videofiles
    very small filesize and relative good quality. but it depends on the lenght,
    quality of source material.
