Disable Office Integration?
Is there a clean way to disable Office integration in Contribute 4? Our web
people don't need it, and in fact insist that it not be used. We have
experienced some of the same problems described in other threads -- it causes
MS Word to crash. We've used the suggested workarounds, but we'd rather not
have it contaminating our MS Word installations, period.

Re: Disable Office Integration?
If you have already installed Contribute 4 and want to remove the installed
toolbars, you are able to do this by following the following instructions:
Choose Start > Run, type appwiz.cpl in the Open text box, and then click OK to
open the Add or Remove Programs dialog box
Locate and select Adobe Contribute 4 and click Change.
When the Wizard appears, click Next.
Select Modify and click Next again.
Uncheck the plugins you want to remove and click Next.
Click next and then click Install.
The programs selected should now open up with the Contribute toolbar removed.
**If do not want to install Toolbars during the intial installation - Do not
chose the default installation and instead choose Customize the installer, and
uncheck MS Office when you go through the wizard.

Re: Disable Office Integration?
Thank you for the useful information. We will do as you suggest.
But will this make the "Please wait while Windows configures Contribute 4"
messages go away? These pop up when we start Office programs. We don't just
want the toolsbars to go away. We want Office to not even to be aware that
Contribute exists, if for no other reason than that whatever it is that creates
this awareness is also consuming resources.
