Display of date data type not correct - Coldfusion - Getting Started

Hi, I believe this is a ColdFusion question. I am starting to work with ColdFusion in the confines of Dreamweaver. I am working with a MS Access database. I have a field with a "date" data type and it is assigned a format of "Short Date" in Access, meaning only the date should appear and not the time. However when Dreamweaver show me the "Live Data" the table cell displays the full date with a time stamp of all zeroes. Any ideas? Thanks! newbie jake...

    Don't worry about it. Your database is actually storing a number. Access has
    some programming attached to it to format that number to look like a date.

    You can do the same in cf. Check out the dateformat function in the cfml
    reference manual. If you don't have one, the internet does.

    Also check out the createodbcdate and createodbcdatetime functions. These are
    ones you want to use in your cfqueries.

    <cfoutput>#DateFormat(Now(), "short")# - #TimeFormat(Now(),
    "short")#</cfoutput>
    will return

    05/20/06 8:09 PM

    You can also use "medium" or "long" instead of short also -
    #DateFormat(Now(), "mmmm dd / yyyy")#
    will return May 20 / 2006
