displaying page numbers when scrolling
When I first installed Acrobat and scrolled some document in it, moving along the scroll bar using the mouse cursor (dragging the scroll bar down, so to say), the page numbers appeared next to the scrollbar in a small menu, so that I could see exactly at what page I am. But now this menu disappeared somehow and to see at what page I am I have to look down at the navigation bar, which is distracting.
I couldn't find anything in the preferences to get that function back. I am using the newest version of Acrobat 6 (not reader). Is this function maybe not available in this version any longer?

Re: displaying page numbers when scrolling
I don't ever remeber seeing this feature you are talking about - except in MS Word and the like.
There is no need really to have it as you can see what page you are in even when scrolling by the status/navigation bar at the bottom of the Acrobat window.

Apparently not; it was available in 4.05 (& probably 5).

Re: displaying page numbers when scrolling
Further investigation shows it is still present in Acrobat 6. If you scroll by dragging the scroll bar as WRFan says! then you should get the page number displayed.
If this isn't displayed then I don't know how to make it show...

Re: displaying page numbers when scrolling
Further to the above, page numbers are only displayed when scrolling - if you have Single Page display selected.
If you have Continous selected then you will not see any page numbers.

Re: displaying page numbers when scrolling
now I got it! First I tried setting single page display and scrolling, but the page numbers still didn't appear. But then I thought that maybe a restart of acrobat is necessary to enable this feature, and indeed, after setting the setting to Single Page and restarting acrobat the page numbers box finally appeared when dragging the scroll bar. problem solved :)Further to the above, page numbers are only displayed when scrolling - if you have Single Page display selected.
If you have Continous selected then you will not see any page numbers.
however, I don't understand why they are not displayed when setting is set to continous and I also don't understand why a restart of the programme is required to make it work. this feature is more difficult to find than an easter egg
