Dissolve from One Image to Another

I followed this tutorial:

To create the banner ad at the bottom of the page. I've able to do everyting
except dissolve from the earth image to the flash logo. I downloaded their
sample file, and it looks like the flash logo is a movie clip, on which he used
a mask layer to create the dissolve effect.

I don't know much about masking and haven't been able to replicate the
dissolve. Can anyone help me out?

Hi there,
If you put the logo on top of the earth I wonder if you really need to use a
mask (a mask is the part that it shows of the layer underneath). Just a simple
motion tween with changing the alpha could be enough.

Try not to use the mask and see how it looks. After that you can try putting a
layer on top of the logo, change it to a mask and put the shape that you want
to show in the mask layer. After that look at the movie again.
