Default Distiling to pdfx-1a and default font Helvetica

    Hi

If I print to ps and distil it with pdf-a1 settings, Helvetica not found and cannot be embedded error is generating.
This happens even with simple rectangle and no printer marks selected. And with variours printers and ppd selected.

How can I remove or change Helvetica to another font? In preference .txt there is nothing about font.

Sorry for my english and thanks if somebody will help.

What is your platform, operating system?

What version of FreeHand are you using?

Does the FH document contain a Text Style that uses Helvetica?

Does File > Report > Fonts show any fonts listed in the report?

I've been having problems when I used 'redefine' to change the Normal Text
Style. It seems that some of the Parent style of the text used to redefine
is clinging invisibly to the new Normal Text Style. By definition, Normal
Text Style has no Parent, so this appears to be a bug in FHMX.

Try this on a duplicate copy of the same document. Open Normal Text Style >
Style Behavior and use the pop-up menu at the bottom of the panel to reset
to Program Defaults. Then manually select font, size and other attributes.
Save the document and print to PS file again. It may have cleared out the
    unwanted Helvetica.

Let us know if this works.

Very interesting. I just generated a PS file for a FH document that does not
contain Helvetica. The PS file uses Helvetica as a default font to define
the font encoding. In my case, because I'm on a Mac, the Postscript looks
    like this:

    -----------
    /MacVec 256 array def
    MacVec 0 /Helvetica findfont
    /Encoding get 0 128 getinterval putinterval
    -----------

This section of the Postscript file goes on to list the high-ascii
characters in the order they would be encoded in a Mac font. (This order
will differ on for Windows-encoded fonts.) Perhaps Macromedia writes this to
every Postscript file generated from FreeHand to ensure font encoding
matches the platform that generated the PS file.

I don't know if using Helvetica in this manner in every Postscript file is
proper. If you think it's a bug, you should report it here:

I too have been having this problem. It appeared quite some time ago (when FHMX
first came out) but I was able to heep the system version of Helvetica around.
Now, because of some other technical issues I have to remove all versions of
Helvetica except those from Linotype per my printer. Suggestions?
