Distiller 6 fails to load

I have the same problem and unfortunately I haven't found a solution. I am on a G5, running Mac OS 10.3.5, and have tried many things to correct this problem--trashing the preferences, uninstalling Acrobat, reinstalling Acrobat, updating to 6.0.1, and then updating to 6.0.2, and nothing has worked. Although, when I log-out of admin. mode and log-in as a different user, distiller works fine. I am thinking this is a font problem, but have no idea how to fix the problem. I would appreciate any ideas as well!

Shelby,

If it works as a different user than it almost has to be a preferences
problem. If not it is something in your library. There are tools on the
net for checking for corrupt preferences. I download the apple script on
this site by Nathan Strong that will delete all traces of acrobat
including preferences and then re-install.

I am suddenly having this problem as well. I use a PowerPC G4 Mac running OS X v10.3.5. I have been running OS X only for 3 months, and initially Distiller worked okay, though I haven't used it much until now. But now Distiller is failing to load, beginning its startup process and then ... nothing - no error message or indicator as to any bug or problem. A couple of days ago, I discovered that if I turn off iMail then Distiller will load and function properly. Could the problem be a conflict between these two applications?

I have had the same problem after I updated to os 10.3.5 and thanks to this set of posts i tried something else that mike kazlow made me think of.
I went to user-your user name

ie: prepress/library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/Acrobat/Distiller6/FontCache

and removed the PSHFList - dragged it to my desktop and distiller now loads correctly.

I had the same situation as shelby ericson, distiller would work logged in as root-administrator but not under our normal log in. Each login has the same path as above with exception to the user name.

hope this works for anyone having the same issues.

I have the same problem, but that solution did not work for me.
