    Default Distiller 9 at login

I just upgraded to 9 Pro and every time I log-in, Distiller puts-up its standard panel
with the message that "CID support library initialization completed."

I looked the preferences of Distiller and Acrobat and turned-off alerts etc what I thought could be
the cause of the problem. No cigar.

Any advice re how to get rid of this message?
There are many applications that do something at startup. If all were to report, I would never get
    to my real work...

    Thank you,

I assume he want to program to come up with no information telling him this item is completed.

In other words open and jump either to blanks screen or have menu bar showing as soon as its opened.

You don't see it as a problem, and I don't see there warning as a problem and neither do I in fact its telling me from the massage it wasn't ready to use until the item came up and said it was loaded.

Every time I log-in, that's what I said. Not every time when I want to use acrobat or
distiller. I don't want it to jump to a blank screen, I don't want it to give a me a menu bar
    ON ITS OWN.
I use Acrobat/Distiller here and there, but certainly I don't jump into distiller every time
    I log-in.

There are many other applications that do something for me at login, if all of them were reporting that "I did this successfully for you ...", half of my day would go to killing off
    these panels.

Do you have Acrobat/Distiller listed under the Login Items tab in the Accounts Preferences of OS X?

Kirsten, you've solved the problem. I just don't know how on earth did Distiller
got there. Next time I'll check "login items" after every upgrade.
Anyway, thank you very much for eliminating this annoying thing.

    Miklos,

If you Control-click on an application's icon in the Dock (or click and hold), there's an option to "Open at Login". (That was first introduced in OS X 10.4, I think). Unknowingly or inadvertently checking that option may have been how it got added to your login items.

    Hope this helps....

Mark, thank you for the info. Yep, in this particular case this could be the explanation.
However, there are other items there that definitely have got nothing to do with me, e.g.
    iTunes Helper, EyeTV Helper, SpeechSynthesisServer.

I guess that these need to be there so I have no intention to delete them, just I note
that the OS and some applications too can add to this list quietly.

Thanks for your observation, I'll be more careful with dock items.

Yes under no circumtances remove speechsynthesisServer, EyeTV helper, or iTunes Helper. without that sound, EyeTV, and iTunes won't work.
