Distiller 9 Error Message

On startup of Distiller 9, I get the following error message:

> Error in /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PDF/Settings/PDFX4
> 2007.joboptions: /CheckCompliance out of range

I'm not really concerned since I don't use those joboptions.

That joboptions file is not installed by Acrobat 9 under Windows. Its
not really openable by Distiller 9 either. When I try to open the file
in BBEdit it is the only joboptions file that is not listed by BBEdit as
openable. When I ask BBEdit to open the file it does so, the file looks
fine.

The line(s) in question read:

/CheckCompliance [
/PDFX4:2007

which seem to correspond to what is available in the PDX3
2002.joboptions file. Like I say I'm not worried. Perhaps the file just
should not have been installed on the Mac, like it was not installed
under Windows.

Do you have the CS3 suite on the Mac and maybe not under Windows?

Jon,

I have the CS3.3 Master Collection on the Mac, hence Acrobat Pro 9 on
the Mac and the TCS 1.3 under Windows and therefore Acrobat 9 Extended
on Windows. The Distiller with the error message and the joboptions file
are on the Mac. The Windows version of Acrobat didn't have the
joboptions file, hence didn't have the error message.
