Distiller and help center crash

when i try to print a PDF with ADOBE PDF 7.0, via any CS2 apps., nothing will happen, in the printers window, a round black icon is beside ABODE PDF 7.0 name.??? I try to open distiller,, the icon will bounce in the dock, then the app. crashes. Try to open ADOBE HELP CENTER, same thing!!! the rest of CS2 WORKS FINE.
I repaired disk permission via disk utilities, did not change anything. I have OSX 10.4.7.
I NEED HELP!!!...please...

Sandra,

Try deleting the Adobe PDF 7.0 printer and detect and repair
afterwards. Also make sure you have Acrobat 7.0.8. As to the help
problem, see if you can download the help update.

Mike,, i just tried it, doesnt work. I do have 7.0.8 version. I still cant open Distiller,, and Help is grayed out and does not work in any CS2 apps....???????.......and adobe updater doesnt have any updates for it.
Hopefully you can think of something else,,, Thanks a lot.

mmm, i dont see what you mean by that. I don't need a user name or anything. Distiller wont even open, and adobe PDF maker wont do anything either. And i cant even see my help menu..... and i feel like i tried everything.....
but yeah if you could give me more detail about creating a new user>>???? i would try it.

Sometimes the problems with Acrobat are only for the current user.
Creating a new user
(a) checks that
(b) gives a quick way to run Acrobat
(c) gives hope of fixing the original user up

Sandra,

While in the new user, delete the pdf printer and do a detect and
repair in Acrobat. Since you get some functionality back in a new user,
that most likely means that you have a corrupt preference file
somewhere in you user Library.

Thanks Aandi, am able to run Distiller under another user name, but still not able to print a PDF via print menu in CS2 apps. and the black eclamation mark icon is still there beside Adobe pdf 7.0....

I do not experience Distiller crashes, but I can't start Adobe Help Center anymore.
Has this issue be resolved? How?
