Re: Distiller crashes on launch
Same problem Here. Both with Suitcase Fusion and Linotype Fontexplorer X (suggest everybody to use the latter, much MUCH better and FREE). Found out so far that the problem with Distiller 7.0.7 seems to appear not because of bad fonts (all 13,000 installed fonts checked) but then more than 640 are active, no matter which one is. Extremely annoying!!!!
Anyone more experiences?>

Re: Distiller crashes on launch
Yes, from my own experience and reading a lot of related posts, it seems to be a conflict with Suitcase Fusion and Distiller in OS 10.4.6 or 10.4.7 ... not sure all three of those components are involved, but we'd actually finally changed some 10.3.9 equipment over to 10.4.6 (since updated to .7 online) really just to make sure Suitcase Fusion would be optimized when we installed it. Ha. And from posts, it appears it's maybe also regular Suitcase and maybe a few versions of Distiller. At any rate, some posts led us to deleting some preferences (didn't help but once) and/or quitting Suitcase (Fusion in our case), which means quitting all apps first, of course (that use fonts), then taking a previously distilled .ps file (from QuarkXPress in our case) and THEN launching Distiller (it will launch) and distilling from there. Mixed results on the actual files, but then we have a new version of Distiller on our hands, too. But it does launch that way. Neither Adobe nor Extensis seems to want to talk about this. I do agree that it has nothing to do with bad fonts (and Extensis, though they supply Font Doctor, won't talk about that, anyay). At any rate... let's hope somebody's working on a real solution. Thanks.

Re: Distiller crashes on launch
Suitcase Fusion 12.1 is up at Extensis... will download and try it. They don't mention this, of course... mostly Universal Binary "and some stability enhancement."
