Default distort 3d sprite

Brief: Can you distort 3d sprites to be shaped like trapezoids? I have planes
that I want to present as if they are at an angle. Yes, I could angle my
camera so the perspective achieves this, but the resulting sprite would still
be rectangular. I want to stretch 4 sprites so they fit around 1 rectangular
3d sprites. Like this: http://www.pabit.org/shape/shape.htm Details: I am
making a 3d version of a real room, minus one wall. I want to project given
sections of the 3d version (with animated content) on to the real walls with a
moving projector. The result will be as it the spotlight(projection) is
revealing the animation on the wall. I need 4 of the virtual walls to be
distorted that when the projection hits the real walls at an angle so the
images will look reletively normal. I'm not going to go into details about the
hardware and how we're moving and focusing on section of the content...the
moving projector, etc for this forum. I see that you can place multiple camera
perspectives in one 3d sprite, but they seem to always be rectangular. Can I
warp/distort them into a trapezoid? Any ideas are welcome. Thanks, Peter

Default Re: distort 3d sprite

I've never tried it, but what you're looking for - I think - is 'quad'.
Check the dictionary.
I'm pretty sure your sprite will have to be non-dts to be able to quad it.

Right, that is one thing I tried, but I guess it just doesn't work on 3d sprites. Also altering the corners in the property inspector seems to not affect 3d sprites. Darn.

i think the only way is to copy the image of your second camera into a
imageobjekt and use it as a texture inside the 3d world.

but i think it will not run on high framerates like its needed in gamestyle
things.

here is a link on a demo that uses a quicktime movie as a animated texture.

think there is no other way.
