    Default DIV tags

    I'm using Dreamweaver 4 and am struggling to do what I want to do.

    Basically, I want to have an area on my page where I can have text and the box
    where the text is has scroll bars on the side. I do not want my page to scroll.

    I understand I need to use DIV tags or something.

    Isn't there just a standard piece of code that I can add my text in to and
    place on my page?

    Default Re: DIV tags

    You CAN use a div tag to do this, but your by no means required to do so. Keep
    in mind too, that Dreamweaver most likely won't display the scroll bar inside
    its wysiwyg view, you'll have to preview the page inside of a browser to see
    what the scrollbar looks like.

    Try something like this, the "border" and "background-color" properties are
    optional, you can remove or change those, but I only included them so you'll be
    able to more clearly see the box inside of DW.

    <div style="border:solid 1px red; background-color:#F1F1F1; padding:1em;
    height:400px; width:600px; overflow:scroll">
    insert your text here...
    </div>
