Objects-->MyComputer.com read each file in that folder- to see what extension they might belong to... Then- you could remove that folder as a test. Restart Dw. is it okay- or are there now Menu errors? You could then restore the menus.bak file.... but that will probably only restore the menus to the last state- and i don't know how many extensions you've installed/uninstalled since the problem started. Bottom line- If you can't find and remove the problem extension- You will have to export your site definitions, uninstall dreamweaver, then reinstall it. Then update to 6.1 (if your installer is for 6.0) then- install extensions ONE at a time- and only install ones that the Author or MM exchange clearly mark as DMX compatible. If the insert menu is disabled or throwing errors- that's what it comes down to. Investigating what's causing the problem, or reinstalling. Are you using PHP?

as a final or further guess- you've got an OLDER extension for dw3 or dw4
installed, that was created by MyComputer.com for a guestbook service or
something similar they used to offer.

uninstall it using the Extension Manager.

or uninstall dreamweaver, and reinstall. then don't put in old extensions
that don't specifically say they are DMX compatible.

back up your sites before wiping dw.

Ther is no extension listed in the manager that relates to this problem.
so if I have to reinstall then I lose all my exts and have to re-download
and reinstall all of them ?

Default Re: DMX insert menu doesn't work !!

    How many extensions are installed???
How many of those do you really use?

suggest opening ext. manager, and clicking on each one listed in turn- and
removing ANY of them with credits attributing them to MyComputer.com

Also- you ~could~ open up the suspect file- go to the Configuration folder
for You as a User- and open Configuration-->Objects-->MyComputer.com

read each file in that folder- to see what extension they might belong to...

Then- you could remove that folder as a test. Restart Dw. is it okay- or are
    there now Menu errors?

You could then restore the menus.bak file.... but that will probably only
restore the menus to the last state- and i don't know how many extensions
you've installed/uninstalled since the problem started.

Bottom line- If you can't find and remove the problem extension- You will
have to export your site definitions, uninstall dreamweaver, then reinstall
it. Then update to 6.1 (if your installer is for 6.0)

then- install extensions ONE at a time- and only install ones that the
Author or MM exchange clearly mark as DMX compatible.

If the insert menu is disabled or throwing errors- that's what it comes down
to. Investigating what's causing the problem, or reinstalling.

Default Re: DMX insert menu doesn't work !!

have you tried doing a find file for EZSmartLaunch

It could be the files aren't there anymore- but there are still entries for
    them in the menus files.

the Configuration1 and so on named folders are from reinstalls or upgrades
of dw. the only configuration folder used is the one named just
Configuration (although on multiuser os, there can be one for each user)

a last ditch effort, if you really don't want to reinstall, could involve a
good text editor that can scan folders. Scan the correct Configuration
folder for EZSmartLaunch or MyComputer.com and see what turns up where...
