Default Do not open pdf in Browser

    Dear Sirs,

I have Adobe Acrobat installed and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
I use the reader for only showing pdfs and the Acrobat (writer) for pdf creation or commenting.

Because the speed of how long it takes to load all plugins in Adobe Acrobat, I have decided to use Adobe Acrobat for reading only.

However, when i click on a pdf file in my browser (mozilla), Adobe Acrobat Professional opens the file in the browser. The files
    * .pdf are associated with the reader and not with Adobe Acrobat Professional.

    My questions are:
    1. How can I change it that pdfs from the web are opened in the reader?
    2. How can I disable "Show pdf in Browser or open with Acrobat" totally? I always want to download pdfs from the internet first.

I have already unticked the option "Display pdf in Browser" under the point "Internet" in both versions.

Is there any "hack" that can help me with this problem?

    Best regards,

    Dirk

Default Re: Do not open pdf in Browser

You can open Acrobat Reader first and then your browser. If Reader is open, it will typically be used to read the PDFs rather than the default in the file associations. If you want to change to AR for ALL reading, then you need to change the associations in Windows Explorer. You have to change application reference in your browser too, depending on the browser you are using.
