    Well, I'm only on page 22 and have decided this stuff sucks! I want to throw the damn thing out the window!

    I guess I'll have to try understaning it again tomorrow. This stuff is hard.

    It will come to you, I thought so as well do something simple. I gave it up actually but I might give it another try myself.

    As with the web posting since you learn so fast the difficulty of understanding it will be history in a couple of days.

    I wasn't so much calling your question stupid so much as giggling that you were missing one of the best, already-available options (The CADtools plugin) to your question.

    The confusion happened because we were cross-posting at the same time.

    I still highly recommend the CADtools plugin.

    Are all of your calculations for materials usage based on shapes that can be calculated by multiplying base X height?

    Talk the bosses into buying this one for you. It's caused me absolutely zero problems (I'm still using AI 8.0.1) And when you need it's capabilities, there isn't anything that matches it for the price.

    No offense meant, Dee. I hope you knew already that I meant no diss in your direction.

    Look for a script called JET_GetArea - I use it regularly for calculating sq. inches. It works like a champ!
