Domain Not Found
Hello Guys,
We have about 50 XP machines that are setup up with a
policy and time management software that allows the user
only to access IE6 and Office for and hour. After that
hour the system logs off and re-logs automatically in with
a mandatory profile that is one the server.
We had this setup before with windows 2k pro which ran
smooth as butter. With Windows XP we are having a lot of
problems with machines logging the user off then coming
back when it attempts to log back automatically saying the
domain could not be found? We are 99% sure it's not a
network problem. Has anyone run into this before?
The TCP/IP settings are configured static
IP
Subnet
Gateway
DNS Server
Wins Server
all set manually .

Is this a NT 4 or Windows 2000 domain?
If this is a Windows 2000 domain, are the DNS and WINS
servers you are setting your internal ones that can
resolve the DC's in your domain/forest?
Are there any errors in the event log?
