don't try aspwebhosting.com
Whatever you do, don't try aspwebhosting.com . One day I got an email
from them saying that my account had been suspended for using too much
cpu time. There was no further explanation. Those bastards took my
site offline, removed my email account, blocked my ftp access and even
refused to let me get a backup of sql-server data. I sent them an
email (using a yahoo account since they had shut down my own server)
to ask what I could do to get my data. Rather than answer my email
they simply put me their BLOCK list. All of my emails are now
automatically bounced. I only sent them one email and it was very
polite. My website is done. My data is gone. All of my files are
gone. The loss of time and effort combined with damage to my business
is unforgivable

As always, there are 2 sides to a story and your host gives quite a
plausable explanation in their response.
Please sort it out nicely with your host and dont litter this ng with your
posts.
Cheers.

Re: don't try aspwebhosting.com
For the record, I disagree with your last sentence. As someone who is
looking for a new, yet cheap, host, I am interested in the experiences of
others, so I am glad this person posted.
For the record, I agree with the first part of what you said, so I am taking
it all with a grain of salt. But if there were others who had similar
stories, then I would have to rule that host out.
Having said all that, anyone who loses all their files because of a host's
action has obviously failed to adequately back up, and there is no excuse
for that.

Re: don't try aspwebhosting.com
There are more *lots* of more appropriate places to post reviews of
web-hosts.
This group is for ASP/Database issues, not for disgruntled consumers or
webhosts to (potentially) slander each other, especially given that the
other party may not be monitering the group, and not have the opportunity to
respond.
Cheers

I'm 50/50 on the off topic part. On one hand the thread deals with hosting
and on the other hand, Aspwebserver does market itself specificly to ASP
code website.
[my 2 cents]
I've used them for a year as a development area for my clients to see their
sites before going on a production server. The site is not availiable for a
siginificant amount of time/days per week/month. I would not recommend them
for a production enviroment. But for $50.00/year, it's a good
development/show site.
[/my 2 cents]

People only learn this the hard way. [See original OP for the hard way]

The original post was a complaint about ASPwebhosting.com, which in
itself was not the truth. Now, to add insult to injury, this post
leads one to believe that ASPwebhosting.com's uptime is poor.
If a person wasn't paying particularly close attention and note the
author of this post referred to Aspwebserver's availability, NOT
ASPwebhosting.com (the subject of the thread), they could easily be
misled to believe ASPwebhosting.com's uptime is poor, which in fact is
far from the truth!
This entire thread should be deleted!

I also had a bad personal experience with ASPwebhosting.com uptime and
poor tech support. However, I have a couple of clients hosting with
them who are very happy. I don't think that ASPwebhosting is any worse
than any other big web hosting company (one of my biggest clients is
having a lot of problems with Verio keeping their SQL servers running at
the moment), but in my opinion they're not any better either.

I've had zero problems with my Verio server.
