    Default Downloading evaluation copies software

I am interested in downloading a test/evaluation copy of adobe
    Illustrator.

To do a decent job of evaluation, I wouldn't want a crippled copy but
one with full capabilities, even if it expires after a weeks or has
    annoying dialog boxes.

Versiontracker only takes me to an "updater" which requires you to have
    a previous version, which I don't have, I would be a first-tim user.

Anybody know of a url where I can download a demo/evaluation copy? Or
    at least find some information.

I find it odd that you wouldn't just look at Adobe's web site, where
trial versions of most of their products are available:

I am neither. If I were a student, I could probably find lots of free
    copies in my dorm. :)

I made two seperate posts because I wanted to x-post my illustrator
    request to an adobe-specific group.

I asked my question politely, in a public forum only of those who feel
like answering it, you didn't have to answer it, and there is no reason
    for such personal attacks.

FWIW, I am interested in evaluating all of the main competing packages.
The prices are indeed reasonable enough to buy what I really want, but
not enough to buy all the packages and discard the ones I don't like.

Thanks. I tried version tracker and adobe, but I must have been
confused or tired because one led me to an updater and the other to a
login screen and I thought you have to be a current adobe customer to
    proceed further.

In defense of Michael's tone, anyone who has been on Usenet for any
length of time has seen a lot of messages which look just like yours.
While it's possible that from time to time it's someone legit, it
    often proves not to be.

It's kind of like the spammer that shows up and says "Hey guys, I just
found this cool site, check it out (link)", and is of course the
registered owner of said site. After a while, any post starting with
"Hey guys, I just found..." is eyed with suspicion.

Maybe you could ask opinions of those using the packages and benefit
    from their experience?
