DPI for a large Corregated Box. 200, 300 more??? Any templates? Companies to use that do it?
Hi,
I've been commissioned to design a large corrugated box for a product about the size of a 14" TV. I've done plenty of brochures and have used 300 dpi for it, but never done printing for something like this. I know in total, i need to do all 4 sides ,which equals to about 80 inches in total.
Some had mentioned to me that larger printing only needs to be about 200 dpi. Is this true? Is this a question that i should bring up with the company that is going to be making and printing the boxes?
Anyone have any recommendations for a company that would print directly on a corrugated box? And are there any templates for creating such a box?
Thanks for any reccomendations you may have.

Major companies using InDesign
I've read that Wal-Mart and Starbucks use InDesign. What are some of the other major companies using it? -

Contact the printer to get their requirements. I'd be surprised if this is printing higher than 100 lpi. That means your maximum output resolution for raster images would be 200 ppi, and you could easily get away with 150.
But since this is an Illustrator forum, I'd guess that most of your work will be in Illustrator using vector graphics. This makes ppi resolution insignificant, except for imported raster images or rendered effects.

Absolutely, there is never a substitute for speaking with the folks who> the company that is going to be making and printing the boxes?
are actually going to print your files.
I have no recommendations, but whomever you select should be able to> Anyone have any recommendations for a company that would print

provide templates for you (and if they can't then I would run to another
company as fast as you can).
