Draft files no longer accessible?
Recent server work required a changed server domain and new profiles for our
staff. Unfortunately, we had many draft pages in progress in Contribute and
didn't realize that those pages needed to be exported so that we could access
them from our new profiles. I can still access the draft files in the sites
directory from my old profile, but I am trying to figure out if there's a way
to transfer those draft files to my current profile so that I can continue to
work on them. I've tried copying the sites directory to my new profile with no
luck, and I've tried dragging and dropping each draft file into an open
Contribute window, also with no luck. Anyone know if there's a way I can access
these files so that I don't have to redo all this work?
Thanks,

Re: Draft files no longer accessible?
Yes, there's a way. And it's quite simple: in your old profile there is a
Contribute Sites folder (in Windows XP it's C:\Documents and
Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Macromedia\Contribute
3\Sites). Each website you have a connection to has a Site folder (Site1, Site2
etc.) and in there are all the draft and new pages, and their .lck files. Just
copy all the contents to the new profile. If you have more than one site just
make sure the folder numbers (Site1, Site2 etc.) match.

Re: Draft files no longer accessible?
Thanks for the response Tom, but as I mentioned in my initial post, copying the
sites directory (from my old profile at C:\Documents and
Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Macromedia\Contribute
3\Sites) didn't work. The files copied successfully, but when I open Contribute
the draft pages are not listed and all of the pages for which there are drafts
are merely locked for editing by my old profile. I deleted the locks (both
through Contribute by appending each page with .lck and deleting it, and within
the sites directory) but that didn't make a difference either. Any other
ideas???
Thanks,
