Re: dream it
Hi, Mitchell!
Yes .. it can be linked to a database .. that's the power of the program!
js or javascript is a client side language and of course the behaviors in
DMX provide much of that. There is also ASP/JS or server side ASP with
Javascript and DMX supports that. Basic functionality is provided by
pointing and clicking and there are tons of wonderful extensions (some free,
some not) that add greatly to that ability. That said .. when you pick what
server model you are going to use, it is a very good idea to delve into the
coding for the time when you are ready to move forward to beyond what any
program does automatically for you.
DMX supports ASP/VB and ASP/JS, Cold Fusion, PHP, JSP and ASP.net. What you
choose to utilize will depend on what you want to learn, what kind of server
you will be using and other factors.
My advice is to take the Dreamweaver tour at
http://www.macromedia.com/dreamweaver and see what it will do. Then
download the free 30 day trial and use it as constantly as possible. I
think that will help in your decision.
I personally wouldn't use anything else!

Re: dream it
HI,i just want to ask one thing more. if it's can be linked to a database.it's depending on what language i'm using? let say im using html. i think i can't be linked to the database. am i right of that?
what do u mean by the client side language? it's js. its mean that i can search or click for the code by itself. if i havent' used ASP before. would it be disadvantages for me to go further to DMX?
Hei, if i know how to use HTMl. I think it's not worth to buy DMX while i can code html by myself. would be that any factor that i should buy DMX? hope to hear from the moderators soon.
thanks!!!

Re: dream it
Gary,
Thanks once again.
I still have last question need to be answered.
THe html is not a strong programming language at all.
For what the Javascript does is to help some part of the process? rite?
if the database is on the server needs to be accesed via a server side script.
Then i should have to learn the ASP as soon as i can. i have seen the code of the ASP already.
it's not the same as JS. BUt i think For the ASP code alone itself will help a lot if without JS.
AM i rite?
I just want to know what help Javascript can do in ASP? As ASP code is more powerful by itself.
As it can do a lot of thing like linking to database,Shopping cart and etc.
How would the server side Javascript should be different from the client side script?
as i see.... it's all the same.
HOpe u can answer my question again.
sorry for disturbing.
THax!
