Default Dreamweaver MX adding 1 extra pixel to table

    Hello,

Why Dreamweaver MX adds an extra 1 pixel width to the table?

I have a table that is 780 in width. Due to the way the web site was design and sliced in Photoshop 7, inside this table I have one cell at the left of 243 in width with an image inside and one cell at the right of 537 width with another image inside.

Everytime I create the cell at the right of 537 of width, Dreamweaver MX is so smart that it adds a 1 pixel to the width of the table changing the width to 781. Why?

I need to edit the HTML code and remove this manually everytime I add a cell within a table?

Is this a bug? Any inputs?

    Thank you in advanced,

    rcrane

It's probably because of the code written by ImageReady, and the way it has
structured a shim column on the table. Can you show the page's code?

    Thank you for the response,

This is hapenning even when doing the table from scratch in Dreamweaver MX. I did sliced the page in Image Ready 7 but I 'm not using the HTML code that Image Ready 7 generated. I'm using Dreamweaver MX to create the HTML code.

Let me know if you still need to see the code.

Again, I can see in the code the extra pixel and remove the code manually. But the point is that is doing this every time I add one cell or two.

    Any inputs?

    Thank you,

    rcrane

Show me the code please (perhaps if you construct a demonstration page with
the minimum amount of code required to see the effect that would be
    helpful).

thats a three column table, not two.

the right one is an empty 1 pixel.

way to fix (i think, i didn't get out a calculator)

click in the table. select the rightmost <table> tag on the Quick Tag
Selector (bottom of design view window)

Set the cellpadding and cellspacing to 10 so you can see and touch things...

    see that column?

now, click in the top right cell, and click/drag down and select all cells
    in that column.
Click Delete, or use Modify-->Tables-->Delete row or column

Then go to the <table> tag and change to 780 from 781
And reset the cellpadding and cellspacing to 0.
