Dreamweaver - Properties - Basic Design Problem

I have been using Dreamweaver 8 for some time now with no problems but now when
I opened a page in Dreamweaver last night it appears to have lost all of it's
properties and gone back to basic design. When I try to change the properties
like changing the font to bold or increasing the size of the font - It won't
let me - It just says basic The links have also gone back to the basic blue
rather then black which is the colour i set them to.

I have obviously changed some kind of setting but don't know which one.

I tried downlaoding my site from the server to the dreamweaver root folder to
see if this would solve the problem but again it looks very basic.. When I
preview the site in internet exploer it looks how it was originally designed.

Help!!!
