dreamweaver trial version installation troubleshoot
I start be downloading the file for the english version of the dreamweaver
trial version. I then open up the zip file and run the file named DreamWeaver
MX 2004 Installer.exe After doing so the installation process starts. It
reaches the part where it says, preparing install sheild wizard to guide you
through the rest of the setup process. The installsheild wizard starts but it
does not open and is not visible on the computer. The only sign that the
Installation process is actually running is that the install wizard appears in
my taskbar. That is as far as i get. Then after nothing happens but the wizard
still remains in the taskbar doing nothing until i finally decide to close it.
I have downloaded the file several times and over a period of days to no
avail. If anyone can help, please do so.

1. You used a download accelerator. This is known to cause problems with
installing MM programs.
2. Your anti-virus scanner is causing problems with the installation.
Solutions (to these issues, anyway): don't use a download accelerator;
and disable your anti-virus scanning during installation.

can think of are that your computer doesn't have the minimum
requirements, or that you have too little space on your hard disk.
Dreamweaver is a very big program, and all programs require temporary
space during installation. You may find that freeing up space on your
hard disk or increasing the size of the swap file will help. If that
doesn't work, you would have to contact Macromedia tech support.

swap file. Since you don't know what it is, it means you won't have
changed it. It's a part of the hard disk that the operating system uses
as virtual memory. On Windows XP, it's controlled by the Advanced
section of System Properties in Control Panel. Occasionally in the past,
it was necessary to increase the size, but on a new computer you should
never have to touch it.
I wish I could help you further, but I run through all the possible
causes that I can think of. It's something you'll have to ask Macromedia
support about. This is a user-to-user forum, so Macromedia technicians
don't normally respond here.
