drivers for windows server 2003 - Windows Server

Running Windows Server 2003 on a Compaq Presario 1700T for study purposes. Currently the display adapter is set to Standard VGA Graphics Adapter, However want to get the proper driver working for the laptop. The chipset is ATI Mobility Radeon. ATI states that I need to go thru microsoft for the driver. Tried using the online help for microsoft, however, microsoft tells me that my server software product id is invalid. The software came with my Microsoft training kit, it is a 180 day evaluation copy. Can anyone help me? email lfsushkahotmail.com...

Go to HP/Compaq support and look up your model and see if their is a driver
you can use. Microsoft doesn't make specific video drivers, even if you see
them on the OS CD.

....nor should anyone ever update device drivers via Windows Update. Ever.

I wouldn't on a brand name but what about on a clone that doesn't have that
signature other than from the manufacturer?

I don't follow - even a clone box is using hardware components for which one
can find drivers, non?
