    Default Drop down menu

    Hello,

I'm trying to use images for the submenus, so i mark the radio button: "image" instead of the "HTML" button in the wizard window, but it didn't work, it marks me "HTML" and create the submenu with HTML code and not with images.
    How can i do it?

    Thanks for your help

I'm not sure what you are saying here. Are you saying that Fireworks
refuses to let you pick the image radio button, or are you saying that
it didn't work correctly when you selected the radio button? Did you
pick the styles for the images? Did you test it in your browser?

    Hi,

I'm saying that FW don't work properly because it didn't let me pick a style for the image, in fact i can't see which styles are disponible, i just have an empty rectangle.

    I have another question:
For my submenus, can i use only images (without text), or i can only use images for the background of the submenu?

    Thanks

....Then that means that Fireworks is not able to locate the Styles file for your pop-up menus. You should have a file named "Styles.stl" in your Nav Menu folder. The location of that folder on your system may vary as to operating system. I can tell you where it is if you can give me information on what OS you are running.

You should not have a First Run folder there. the First Run folder should be in the

    C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Fireworks MX\

folder. If you do not see the Nav Menu folder in the:

    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Macromedia\Fireworks MX\

(Windows 2000 and XP -- you still have not answered my question about your OS. If you want help please give me your OS)

folder then your First Run is not getting written out to that location and there is a problem with permissions or something more serious. I suggest that you reboot as Administrator and run Fireworks before you log into your normal user mode. If the First Run folder is not getting written to the Macromedia folder in the Application Data folder as the Fireworks MX folder then something is wrong with permissions or your system.

Good! That's what I'm running on my laptop here. Look in:

    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Macromedia\Fireworks MX

That's where the Nav Menu folder should live. If it's not there, then Fireworks was unable to copy out the First Run folder to the Application Data\Macromedia\ subfolder and that could be a permissions problem or a damaged install or some system problem that I have not encountered yet. It may help to use Add/Remove Programs to remove Fireworks, then check the Program Files\Macromedia folder to make sure that everything was removed, if not you may want to back up any files that were not removed as they might be commands, command panels and other extensions you may have installed. Also check the Application Data\Macromedia folder for the Fireworks MX folder. Make sure it got removed.

Before reinstalling, you should reboot as Administrator with full privileges and clear the Temp directory. Intstallshield installers use the Temp directory as a launching location for the actual installers and junk files in that directory can mess up an innstallation. Make sure your virus detection software is disabled before you install and disable as many processes as you can before installing (in fact we recommend copying the installer to the desktop and rebooting in SAFE mode before installing as a troubleshooting step) Use Add/Remove Programs to reinstall. Run the application one time as Administrator before you log out and back in as a user. Then chack the Application Data\Macromedia folder for the Fireworks MX folder and all its contents. It should match the first run folder's and you should find the Nav Menu folder with the STL file in it.

You try these examples of popups and drop-down menus (free lingo-only

There are also a couple of commercial Xtras for making drop-down or popup
