    Default drop downs in safari not working over flash

    I'm having issues with drop down menus flickering in safari over flash
    elements. I've used the built in drop downs in both dreamweaver and fireworks,
    and neither work properly. I've even tried a third part script. Does anyone
    have any insight into this.

    That's the site.

    adding this parameter helped, but didn't solve all the problems.
    <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />

    I'm in the dark here.:beer;

    You're caught by your current one.

    Hi Brian,

    I'm having the same problem. Let me know if you come up with a workaround. I've experimented with some css dropdowns but the same problems arise.

    Thanks!

    I posted a workaround hundreds of times.

    All Active content on a page will always rise to the top, so to speak,
    including Flash, certain form elements, Java applets, and Active X controls.
    This means that each of these will poke through layers. There is not a good
    cross-browser/platform reliable way to solve this issue, but if you can be
    confident in your visitors using IE 5+ or NN6+, then you can use the Flash
    wmode parameter.

    Thanks for the re-post Murray. But I guess the problem is that the wmode work
    around isn't cross-platform/cross-browser. While mac is a small share of the
    market... that smal share is millions of potential viewers.

    If anybody else has any other suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.
    Especially any css driven dropdowns that will work over the top of Flash on Mac
    Safari & Mozilla browsers and PC IE & Mozilla.

    Thanks!

    I think you are in for a let-down. There is no workaround.
