Drop shadow and text
Hi - can anyone help? I am finding that when I placed a drop shadow on images it affects the copy around the image making it look bold. The boxes are not connected. I have tried bringing the copy to the front too. It only shows up once it has been repro'd and obviously once the magazine has been printed. Not even on the PDF's. Any suggestions?

Re: Drop shadow and text
Your text layer must always be the top layer of your document. Also, make sure in your prefs, under composition you don't have the "text wrap only effect text beneath" is checked OFF.

Re: Drop shadow and text
Look at the flattener preview palette. It will show you which text or strokes will become rasterized in the flattening process. Read the help screens for details on using the flattener preview.

Re: Drop shadow and text
A lot of this depends on the type/age of rip used at the magazine printer.
A qualified pre-press tech can work around this, if they know the problem exists.
Any suggestions?
Look at proofs carefully.
