Drop Shadows
Hi everyone:
Im inserting a photo into Dreamweaver, and editing it in Fireworks. Im trying to apply a drop shadow, but when I apply it, nothing happens. It shows in the "effects" section as being applied, but even when you preview it in FW, nothing shows up. Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: Drop Shadows
You need to enlarge the canvas. :-) When you open a photo in Fireworks
it opens on a canvas with the same dimensions as the photo. The drop
shadow extends from the edge of the photo, so unless you enlarge the
canvas to accommodate it, it's hidden.

Re: Drop Shadows
And a simple way to do that is to select the picture and in the edit menu at
top select "Crop document".
THat will automatically enlarge the canvas to the required size. :)

Re: Drop Shadows
Hello,
Perhaps your canvas is not large enough to show a drop down shadow effect.
If you are diting the image from Dreamweaver, the canvas size isthe same
size as the photo. Make the Canvas Bigger than the photo by Modify > CanvasI hope this helps.> Canvas Size. Apply the drop shadow effect and see what happens.

Drop Shadows
When I apply a drop shadow to an image or to text the orignal object gets
(pixelated?) corrupt. Anybody know how to cure this.
Thanks

drop shadows
I'm having a problem. I can't seem to get drop shadows for text. I
can get them for images and objects, but no luck on text. Using the
Selection Tool I select the text box in question. I then pull down
Object->Drop Shadow and apply drop shadow with the same specs as the
other items in my layout. But, my drop shadow does not appear. I
supposed that perhaps it would on printing. Nope. I have looked
through the help files for clues. No luck. I am now appealing to you
all. I am using OSX 10.4 and Indesign 2.0.2. Assume I know nothing.
There is no such thing as too much information.

Re: drop shadows
Additional information re my earlier request. On a whim, I changed the
face of the font. Ta-Da! Drop Shadows! My problem now seems to be
that I can't get drop shadow on that font. What might cause that? The
original font was P22 Broadwindsor. I changed it to Times.
