    Default Dummy Windows

I'm using InDesign version 1.5.2 and have noticed dummy windows popping up in the program tool bar. If I have to InDesign files open, I can't toggle back and forth from file to file because of this. How do I get rid of these dummy windows?
    Thanks for the help.

You're going to have a tough time finding anyone who remembers 1.5.2.

But in case you do, you really need to provide more system details.

Could you explain in a bit more detail what you mean by "dummy windows
popping up in the program tool bar" and "I can't toggle back and forth
    from file to file"?

Incidentally, since you are using Windows 2000, you can upgrade to
InDesign CS--a move I highly recommend. InDesign 1.5.2 was not ready
for serious use in a production environment.

The window toolbar at the top of the file where you can toggle from one file to another. Inside the "Window" menu is: cascade, tile etc...When I click on "Window" I get a list of dummy windows. I can't see any other file under the "Window" tool bar.

I have asked my employer to upgrade but, it's not gonna happen anytime soon.

    What are "dummy windows"?

Anyway, I suggest you try trashing your InDesign preference files. I
forget where they are in InDesign 1.5.2, but maybe someone else does.
