Try this: Adobe Encore DVD.

It's really easy to use. You can download a 30-day tial.

DVD authoring?
Hi
There is a lot of information on great DVD video capabilities about the new
release of Director 2004 but smartly all of the news release omits the plain
fact whether DVD authoring and producing complete DVD projects in Director is
possible or not
So far I have been using DVD Studio Pro but it was long time on my wish list
to see complete DVD authoring capabilities integrated into Director...is it
available in Director 2004 yet
thanks, Attil

Re: DVD authoring?
Try searching the forum and the forum archives before posting the question.
In most cases it will give you a much faster answer than posting and waiting
for someone else...especially if it is a question that gets answered on a
daily basis. The NG archives are at:

To answer your question...no.

Hi reinhat,
You can try checking the Top 3 TechNotes on the Director Support Center
homepage. There is a Technote that covers DVD information and should
answer your question:
DVD video capabilities in Director MX 2004 (TN 19156)
http://www.macromedia.com/go/19156
Director MX 2004 allows you to import and interact with DVD-Video in a
Director file.
The basic deal is that DVDs that play on TV-set DVD Players are really a
compilation of video chapters. TV DVD Players do not read computer
applications such as a Director file, projector, or DVD-ROM. You could
take a Director project and export the various parts as video and then
take that all into a DVD application to create a DVD. With this method
you would lose the Director interactivity and you would still have to
create the menus and buttons in a DVD program.

Re: DVD authoring?
DVD authoring is not possible within Directo. Authoring TO DVD is what
Macromedia are talking about. Also, Director MX supports DVD quality (MPEG4)
video files.
I made the same mistake of believing that Director was able to author
interactive DVD's to play within a DVD player. That's not possible yet,
unforetunately. Maybe there is an xtra which could convert lingo to code
accessible by a DVD player though. That'd be cool. :)

Re: DVD authoring?
Tony, FYI DVD video is a form of MPEG 2 compression. MPEG 4 was not around
when DVDs began and is a relatively new compression format.

Re: DVD authoring?
Doug, FYI I meant MPEG2. I type so fast I sometimes make mistakes. Forgive
me, I'm only human.
Anyway, Director supports them all now. MPEG1, 2, 3 & 4 (don't bother
telling me that MP[EG]3 is an audio standard cause I know) ;¬)
