DW library help
Hi DW experts:
I inherited a website where the designer used libraries and templates to
create it. within the library file, there is asp code which displays the
company logo depending on which page/site the user has selected from somewhere
(sorry, don't know classic asp that well).
Anyway, i have opened the .lbi file and revised it, also i checked in the .dwt
file to make sure the change was made. Now how do you update the pages that
use the .lbi file? according to DW, once i save the .lbi, I should get a
dialog box that asks me do i want to update all pages. I do not get this page
when I save the .lbi file. I have clicked on "modify --> library". I had to
create a site (I hadn't done that because I didn't need the whole site on my
pc), still nothing. for some reason, the .lbi file is not updating all the
pages. when I try to update the text in the file that uses the .lbi file
(i.e., uneditable area) I get this response:
"You have made changes to code that is not marked as editable. If you retain
those changes, they will be lost the time you apply a template update to this
file. Do you want to retain the changes until then? Yes or No."
I have clicked both yes and no just to see what would happen. Both responses
reverts the text I modified back to its original version...totally ignoring my
change/s. Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? I can not get
rid of the library files and the templates without totally recreating the whole
website. How do I update all the files that use the library so that the one
change i made in each library file will update throughout the site? Am I
making sense?
Thanks for your help

Re: DW library help
Have you gone into the assets panel and dragged your library item onto your template? as this should work. when you save the template thats when the dilog box will appear to allow you to update pages.
