DW Uploads HTML Header only ?? - Macromedia Dynamic HTML

Default DW Uploads HTML Header only ??

I have been using Dreamweaver MX2004 for a few years to maintain a school web
site. It has always performed well but recently I find that when I upload an
HTML and check it on the web site, I find that the file only contains the HTML
    header information!

In order test this I have produced a new, very basic HTML file in DW with only
a single item of text it in but this still appears on the web site as just the
    header information.

However, I can upload files using a basic FTP program with no problems.

    Please help
    Dave

    Here are two links:

First the file uploaded using DW:-
    http://www.ewelme.oxon.sch.uk/tester.htm

and secondly, the same file renamed and uploaded using CoffeeCup FTP Program:-
    http://www.ewelme.oxon.sch.uk/tester2.htm

    Thanks

I guess the problem is unrelated to what you used to write or upload the
file. It is more likely related to WHERE you have uploaded it. How is your
    remote site defined in DW?

Sure looks like they are set up the same.

In DW, create a file with a nonsense name, and upload it. Then look at the
files found in the /web/ folder. Do you see this nonsense named file there?

I'm not sure what you intended me to try? An htm file with a nonsense name or
    another file type?
So I've uploaded two files , "rubbish.htm" which only contains text, and
"ewelme2.txt which is the site listing in a pure text file.

    http://www.ewelme.oxon.sch.uk/rubbish.htm
    http://www.ewelme.oxon.sch.uk/ewelme2.txt

    The results are:
    1. Both files do show up in the /web/ (remote) listing of DW
    2. The htm file only has the header information when viewed in DW (remote) or
    on the actual web site
    3. The text file reads correctly when viewed in DW (remote) or on the actual
    web site

Thing that concerns me is that I have been using DW for several years without
this problem and I haven't changed anything in the DW setup?

    I think it's fixed now - But I'm totally confused !!

The only thing that I have changed on my system recently is the removal of
McAffee security and replacment with VirginMedia PC Guard. I had checked the
firewall settings for DW and the Coffecup FTP program and both were identical.

Working logically, I disabled PC Guard and retried the upload using DW - Hey
    Presto! it worked ok
So I restarted my computer to fully restart PC Guard and tried another upload
    - That worked also !!!

    Computers Huh !

    Thanks for all your help.
    Regards
    Dave

McAfee and Norton have both been implicated in such curious behavior....
