When installing DW8 all my sites from DW MX2004 were automatically imported
beautifully. However DW8 didn't import my extensions from DW MX2004. Do all
my extension have to be installed again in DW 8?

Open your extension manager. Go to File->Import Extensions.

Re: DW8 didn't import the extensions
File->Import Extensions is not an available option in my version of Extension
Manager which say that it is version 1.7.240. Also when I install an extension
now any previously installed extensions are not listed. Only the one I've just
installed.

Re: DW8 didn't import the extensions
In Extension Manager no extensions are shown when Dreamweaver MX 2004 is selected nor when Dreamweaver 8 is selected.

Must I remove Dreamweaver MX 2004 in order to get Extension Manger in Dreamweaver 8 to work properly?

Can you still use the extensions that you had installed into DWMX2004?
Otherwise it sems as if the install proces or the Extension Manager
Store process wiped out the listing of extensions that EM knows about.
You may ahve to reinstall all your extensions.

Re: DW8 didn't import the extensions
All installeds extension for Dreamweaver MX 2004 are still available for use
when in Dreamweaver MX 2004. All installed extensions for Dreamweaver 8 are
still available for use when in Dreamweaver 8. However no extensions are
displayed in Extension Manager for Dreamweaver 8 or Dreamweaver MX 2004.

Re: DW8 didn't import the extensions
Unfortunately before I read your message I tried removing Dreamweaver MX 2004
and indeed it did not help clear up the problem with Extension Manager. It
still installs extensions ok but once Extension Manger is closed after
installing an extension and then opened again it no longer displays any
extensions, thereby making it impossible to "Manage" any installed extensions.
Bummers.

Re: DW8 didn't import the extensions
Tried uninstalling Dreamweaver 8 and then reinstalling it. Extension Manager
still doesn't show any installed extensions essentially reducing Extension
Manager to an Extension Installer program. You can't remove any extension once
it has been installed.
Any ideas how to fix this problem?

Re: DW8 didn't import the extensions
I can't get any extensions whatsoever to install using the new version of
Extension Manager (the one that installed itself with Studio 8). This applies
even to new extensions that were specifically designed for the Studio 8
applications. I use a PC with Windows XP Professional. I've seen posts about
this problem all over the Web, and it seems to affect everyone differently.
Specific error message I get when trying to install extensions:
Runtime Error!
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
