    Hi Mark

I have just received my copy of Studio 8 today and am having the same problem
    - All the help says is go to commands > manage extensions, but that is greyed
    out!

    Did you find a solution?

    Hello Jill,

I haven't found a solution, however I have discovered that Dreamweaver 8 is
shown in the Extension Manager when DW8 is open. This does mean that you have
to close DW8 after installing the extensions, but it at least is shown.

I've searched the net for a while but haven't found a permanent solution.

    Version 1.7 automatically installed when I installed DW8. I haven't been able
to find v1.7 as a download anywhere either. I'm gonna keeping looking for a
    solution.

Maybe you could try uninstalling and then reinstalling DW8.

After you installed DW8, did you close it and THEN open the MM Extension
Manager (MEM)? My MEM shows DW8, as well as FW8, FL8, DWMX2004, FWMX2004,
    FLMX2004 and Flex 1.5.

However when I opened MEM after the installation of DW8, MEM spent about five
minutes building an extension cache file before the interface finally opened.
It appeared to be collecting all extensions from prior versions. It did not
enable any of them. I have had to enable those that I want. (I have enabled
very few in that I do not yet know which will safely work with DW8.)

My suspicion is that if you did not see MEM building a cache file of
extensions on your system, DW8 may not be viewable in it.

On Windows, it might have something to do with the registry. I did a search of
my WinXP registry and it appears that the versions available to MEM are listed
within it. A large amount of registration information also appears that looks
like it might tie back to the license code. I have a DevNet license. It might
be looking for particular license information when determining which version of
    DW to "see".

    Just an idea.
