I'm having a similar problem. On mine I noticed that although the text doesn't show and the border doesn't show, the cursor changes appropriately when it rolls over the area where the text box SHOULD be. Does yours do that?

It seems to me like it may be a problem with the variable issue, but I haven't been able to solve it yet.

Hopefully one of the bright folks that watches these forums will have some hints for us. ; )

dynamic text boxes behave oddly in various settings.

the one cure all for the dynamic text not showing up that i have found is pretty symple.
just embed the font on the textbox, and voila! the text shows up.

to do this simply click on the text box, go to the properties panel, click the 'character...' button,
and choose the font outlines you wish to embed. Once this is done, the dynamic text appears.
only problem is that is increases your final published swf size.

wierd. don't know why this works this way, it has been an issue since flash 5.

    Hi, thanks for that -

I've still got another problem though with:

I've got a movie clip that shows when i hover over something, and want to use this as a menu. Problem is, when i hover over the button on this movie clip, the whole thing disappears!

    Anyone any ideas?

    Cheers
