Default E-Commerce/Shopping Cart

I have a client that would like an e-commerce site for her business. I've
searched various e-commerce web building sites and have found that the
templates used are not sufficient nor attractive for me or the client.

I like to do a lot of my web building using Dreamweaver 8, Frontpage, and
Publisher. I would prefer to use Dreamweaver 8 and I have been searching
tutorials, manuals, forums, etc. trying to find an answer.

I'm not the "best" person when it comes to web designing, so therefore I would
prefer an almost Step-by-Step Guide that I can read. Money is very scarce so
going out and purchasing books or software really isn't an option as well.

Can someone knowledgeable in this PLEASE, PLEASE help. I have been working on
this for a week now. I need an answer ASAP as the site needs to be built and
ready to be uploaded in 3 days.

As time is of the essence, at this point, I would recommend using a prebuilt
cart .. if there aren't too many products, you can use something like the
PayPal shopping cart, which is free and there are instructions on the paypal
site for getting started.

Also see if your host has a shopping cart included .. many have a simple one
already included with your package.

Depending on what server technology you want to use. I use ColdFusion, but more
people use ASP or PHP it doesn't matter.

first off check with you hosting company on prices and packages for some kind
of server technology.

I use Cartweaver (ColdFusion) which I have to say has been fairly good.

They have PHP ASP and ColdFusion version and it costs around $250 US.

They're simple straight forward and not bad with help

You don't need to know a lot of coding in order to get everything sorted.

You can, however, really get into personalizing the product if you can code

Good Luck

You could also try downloading a copy of Visual Web Developer from Microsoft
it's free and there is a free shopping cart you can use to develop the site

More about this as microsoft's website

In case you haven't gotten far on this project.

http://zen-cart.com is the best shopping cart, and the most downloaded
dedicated shopping cart on sourceforge.net.

I use it on my site, www.birdoasis.com
