Easy way to change text color in InDesign cs Windows?
Hi,
Just wondering if there is an easy way using InDesign cs for Windows
to select a word or a sentence or a paragraph and change the color of
the text? In MS Word it's so easy.
Thanks,
Mark

gradient to the text or the text outline easily.
See "Applying Color" in the user guide...
Look for "Fill Box", "Stroke box" and "Formatting affects text"
You can apply different colours/gradients to the the main stroke and
the outline and have the outline different widths - something which
Word can't.
You can also define a "Character" style with just a colour and call it
e.g. Red. A character style has the advantage of still being applied
even if you change the Paragraph style.
In general, if I am going to use a colour regularly I will create a
character style.

about three colours, none of which you want. You need to learn about
swatches.
Unlike Corel Draw (boo hiss), which makes this kind of thing even easier,
you have to mess about to change between stroke and fill colours, and it
makes a mess if you press X when you've got the text tool. Why they can't
make it just left click for fill and right click for stroke is beyond me. It
would encourage Mac users to get proper mice too... Come on Adobe. Get Corel
Draw and pinch its really good features. Like underlining duff spelling. And
doing bulleted lists. ID CS ain't perfect yet. But admittedly, it is pretty
good.
