Eclipse editor / CFEclipse plugin
Has anyone any experience with the open source editor Eclipse and the CFEclipse plugin?
If so, how does it compare to Dreamweaver MX?
Thx

Re: Eclipse editor / CFEclipse plugin
i use eclipse heavily for java development and have tried the CF eclipse
plugin. I've used CF Studio for years and have used dreamweaver pretty
extensively, too. After all this time, I still think that for coding, Studio is
the way to go. Dreamweaver is close, but it's missing some essential thing like
bookmarks and code folding. the eclipse plugin has those, but i dont think it
has quite the tag support of studio or dreamweaver, although i could be wrong
there. overall, after i tried the eclipse plugin for a few days, i said 'screw
this. back to studio' and that was that. i really wish they'd try to make
dreamweaver's code editing environment match studio, because there's a lot
about studio that just sucks, too. it's debugger is awful, its VSS support only
works for small projects, deploying to test isn't nearly as easy or intuitive
as dreamweaver's. but it's database viewer is superior....and it's got
bookmarks, code folding, and split screen editing. all these choices...

Re: Eclipse editor / CFEclipse plugin
We on the CF Dev team think CFEclipse is pretty cool, for what its worth.
The more ways to code CFML the better. :-)

Re: Eclipse editor / CFEclipse plugin
Tom, What is it about cfeclipse that you prefer over other IDEs like CF
Studio? I won't ask why you prefer it over Dreamweaver. Is there something
about cfeclipse that makes you more productive, or makes coding more enjoyable?
